Howdy all!
Quick question – Recently got a new powermatic floor standing mortiser (719A) and discovered that the chisels that came with my steel city mortiser are either to long or the bit is to short. If anyone has one the Jet or PM can you advise which chisels will fit in it? Obviously I can get WMH model but that takes to long!

If I'am readiny your problem right. Look to see if your PM didn't come with a chuck extension. The smaller Deltas do, so you can change chuck position and use either long or short shanked bits.
Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

Yes, I suppose reading the instruction manual would help. Didnt figure I needed to do that given its just a mortiser! Shame on me!

When I got mine, I ordered the chisel/bit sets with it. It did come with an extra bushing, of some kind, that was designed to hold a chisel but didn't fit anything that I had so I just put it away and have never installed it again. Otherwise the chisel/bit sets work just fine. I wasn't aware that some didn't fit.
