Hi, I know there are some very knowlegeable people on this forum, I need an answer to please the SO.
The problem is to paint some plastic plates. Regular hardware store spray paint fisheyes badly and will not adhere. It was easily removed with varsol even when dry. Acetone and varsol have no effect on the plastic. Maybe they are made of some kind of melamine? Does anyone know how akind of spray bomb paint that might adhere well? I am only looking for light hand wash durability.
Thanks, John.

Hmmm. I won't ask "why". ;-)
Have you tried auto touch-up paint?

Krylon makes a plastic spray paint that adheres well and my local hardware stores carry it. Should be available in your area.
I would be amazed if anything would adhere very long for washing.
I have seen krylon locally and I'll check at Can Tire for automotive paint. Thanks for the advice.
John.
Plastic or vinyl? Nutin (or almost) sticks to Vinyl except what you don't want. Oil or dye contamination is almost impossible to neutralize in vinyl. Fisheyes are usually the result of contamination or humidity. See RickLs response. The new plastic paints work very well.
