I thought I would post some pics from the NWA show this past weekend in Saratoga Springs, New York. I really enjoyed this show. Besides all the booths displaying tools, accessories an some very nice lumber this show has the added benefit of being a showcase for a lot of very fine woodworking from carving, turning and furniture pieces. The few photos that I’ve posted here are just a drop in the bucket of all the nice things on display at this showcase of woodworking.
My son resides in Connecticut at this time, so this was a great opportunity to combine showing my wares and spending some time with my son Daniel. “The Cherubini” was in the house so it wasn’t long before Daniel and Adam became quick friends. In return for a bit of assistance to Adam, Daniel received a sawing lesson as you will see in the pictures.
I always enjoy having my booth close to Adam because his charismatic personality always draws a crowd and besides he’s just fun!
I’m told that the boat in the picture is an Adirondack guide boat, I don’t know a lot about boat terminology, I just thought it was a canoe. No matter what type vessel it is, one thing is for sure, it was a marvelous piece of work.

Hi Ron,
Looks like Adam's tryin to do a jib on that saw hoss!
I've got an extra clamp if he wants to borrow it. Mebbe he has sandpaper on his sole so the board won't slip?

A Woodworkers mind should be the sharpest tool in the shop!
That horse is way too high for normal sized people. My bench is 2 or 3 inches beneath my palms and still too high for most folks. I made it especially for demos and of a height that most folks would find comfortable. I've since learned that it's just right for me and much too high for most.Daniel and Ron are awesome folks. They build amazing tools. The NWA showcase is a lot of fun. My experience is that woodworkers are really fun to hang out with. We had a lot fun in the seminars. Jim Tolpin sat in on my saw talk and every 5 or 10 minutes I teased him saying, "Did I mention? Jim Tolpin's here!" and we'd all clap. 10 minutes later "Hey everybody! Jim Tolpin's in the house". I guess you had to be there.AdamP.S. Tolpin is awesome. And for those of you who think I'm kooky, I think Pat Edwards has me beat!
Ron,
Thank you for the pics, especially the beautiful boat. I see myself cruisin' in that on Lake Windermere.
Now, is that a Cherubini in real clothes!? Perhaps you have further pics of his rehabilitation - one or two of him clutching a new biscuit joiner or purchasing a series of cutters for his newly-acquired spindle molder perhaps? :-)

Lataxe,Could you really imagine someone actually putting that boat in the water? Of course I guess it's too big to be only ornamental.Bob,Adam is not adverse to clamping devices as long as they're not brightly colored, in fact they'd probably have to be the color of forged steel, and if he ever used a machine tool it would most likely occur in the catacombs of a deeply dug dungeon so that no one could ever witness such blasphemy. (grin)RonIf you're too open minded your brains will fall out.
