Clip one of these to the blade of any COMBINATION square. It’s radiused clamping lip will fit the 1/2 circle groove in the graduated blade perfect. You can slide the paper clip up and down the length of the graduated ruler of the square and directly read height of blades/bits,ect. The paper clip is perfectly square to the blade because it is referencing it’s contact from the longitudinal 1/2 circle groove in the square’s graduated blade. It works perfect and best of all it’s “dirt cheap”.

Great idea. A lot of people call these Bulldog Clips, the original brand name.

Too cool, and even cheaper than dirt since I have so many of them (but have to go out and buy potting soil).
I can see this coming in handy when setting up a drawer-lock bit this weekend on a project. Bit has to be set "just exactly right" but digital calipers don't help, not stable enough. Could set the Binder Clip Square gizmo with the caliper and then use that to set the bit.

Thanks Forest Girl. Do those drawer lock bits require you to run one piece vertical and the other horizontal? If so, you are correct about the perfect height relationship.
Yep, they sure do (horizontal and vertical). I'm on my second go-around milling stock for this project (don't ask!) and I really can't afford any mistakes in the joinery -- Christmas isn't that far away, LOL.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
What a great idea! I end up with lots of these - take 'em off paper bundles that I dispose of after reading, but can't bring myself to toss the clips. I have used them for gluing clamps on very small objects, they exert a decent amount of force, especially when near their open limit.
Thanks!
