First I would like to thank all who contributed jokes, I will ask for more again in the future. Secondly, with winter closing in, I am thinking of putting my dust collector outside in an attatched addition which I will build just for the collector & possibly my air compressor. I am thinking of insulating the addition & installing an air grille so the heated air sucked from the shop will return to the shop. I was thinking also about a door with outside access to the collector bags, etc. Any feedback from anyone on this? Thanks again.

So why not just leave it in the shop?
Be careful your air lines, tank, and drains don't freeze with condensate in them.
Check out the link below. It is a good read and may have a few ideas for you.

in principal i think it would be a good idea (i'm thinking about doing it too)- assuming the noise or dust won't pi$$ off the neighbors and you take into consideration a few other things, including the previous suggestions. i would add making very sure the intake air for the ac is not the exhaust air from the dc. somehow you'll need to keep the compressor from sucking in sawdust. also, if your shop has hvac, you'll need to make some arrangement so that your dc isn't heating and/or cooling the great outdoors in the process of cleaning the great indoors. compressors and dust collectors are wonderful things but they are noisy and dirty.
