I really screwed this one up.I made a small box out of birds eye maple and glued on 4 small legs of spalted beech and in my infinite wisdom glued one on noticeably crooked. How can I loosen the glue enough to pull the leg off without damaging any wood. Or is this even possible with regular wood glue

knobby,
I've done that before. I've softened glue with a damp towel and a iron. Place the towel at the joint and push the iron against it. It does raise the grain. If you can work a thin pry bar under it while steaming it should pop right off.
Hope this helps,
Len
P.S. My girlfriend was upset I used her good iron...:)
What type of glue was it, knobby? White or yellow PVA, polyurethane, urea formaldehide, hide glue, epoxy resin, cyano-acrylate(sp?)? Slainte.
