Well, when whomever shows up to "take a look" at my shop and tools, while they're here, I'll show them how accurate my .45 and AR-15 are, too.
Well I guess my life is now there for the whole world to see, I just googled my first name and I have a lot of stuff hanging there for the world to see.
So much for a quite, private life.
from the person formerly known as Taigert!!!

Don,
I address it this way as for you, the damage is done, otherwise I would either not use the posters name or perhaps insert , "Dear Ms./Mrs./Mr./OP poster," :)
Some of me showed up in Google but I normally "forbid" Google, Google Syndication, Google Analytics etc. any script/cookie rights when on the FWW site through using NoScript at http://noscript.net/
It screws up my "search" a little on FWW but that's been screwed for years so...
I suspect the deal of letting Google data mine FWW's pages was, I think, one of the increased profit biggies, for Mr. Revzon's planned overhaul of the site. It's been going for quite a while (maybe a year) but not to the forums themselves until the change.
I would like to have the ability to change my name on the site if so desired. I am personally somewhat protected as I seldom use my name (and then, first name only) in any public posts.
In your case it would be nice to be able to change it as that is your real name, but the gut's of the argument are that you shouldn't have to.

Yep, that's the consequence
Yep, that's the consequence of lots of folks wanting improved search capabilities.
I don't worry too much about it.
