Hi Folks,
Forum swap isn’t happening today… still doing some fine tuning. Tentative launch date set for tomorrow, Tuesday.
I’ll share more updates as I know them.

So..how's...... Wednesday looking for the new change ?? Just wondering??
Bill D.
We as woodworkers are all familiar with the terrors of a complicated glue-up. The stuff is setting up, a joint refuses to go-home and the phone rings. Arghhh!I would guess that this nightmare could be multiplied by ten for the IT personnel responsible for this changeover - and Gina has to sit "patiently" at the side.My heart goes out to all of you.Frosty“If you put the federal government in charge of the Sahara Desert,
in 5 years there’d be a shortage of sand.” Milton Friedman
Morning Frosty ,
That phone ringing while glue is dripping is an all too often scenario in my shop and makes me want to wear a headset . Let's see , glasses on hearing protection on, dust mask on , head set on gee feel like I might get tangled up.
Folks should not be mad at the forum staff imo they are not responsible for the change , sounds like that is taken care of by professionals and is out of their hands .
I am sure you are correct about the changeover for the forum , must be very involved and my guess the folks giving us info are only sharing what they have been told .Another guess on my part Miss Gina probably really does not have a total understanding of how or when things will work exactly until the time comes .

Dusty -My philosophy is that the phone is for MY convenience and I have no problem ignoring it if I'm busy. Isn't that why they invented answering machines? - lol
Can we get a new cappuccino maker at the cafe?
Not Wednesday either. Haven't heard an update on when our swap will happen.
They may push some of the other forums live first... Knots and Breaktime are Taunton's largest so it takes a little longer to migrate all the data.
Again, thanks for your continued patience... Gina
Gina,
Wasn't nagging...just wondering. Actually logging in every time keeps the memory bank working........and as I get older..........Aw friggit ...I forget what I was gonna say....

Gina,It will happen when it happens...this is NOT a life threatening situation. During my time in the military I was shot at -- and missed every time. The experience changed my perspective on many things, and narrowed the list of those things that drive me nuts. We Knots addicts, by and large, are an amiable bunch who tend to tolerate the occasional glitch. After all, we usually buy more tools and wood than we need because we accept the fact our initial optimistic plans almost always encounter glitches. I would hope that, collectively, we would extend you the same courtesy. If I could give you a hint(as the ex-CEO of a software company): Make sure there are frequent inflows of fresh pizza. An ample supply of chocolate also seems to help meet deadlines!Regards,RonAs God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!

Shouldn't someone be whining about having to log in?
Looking at the new forum, I'd be glad to have to log in if I can continue to use this (antiquated?) system.Chris @ http://www.flairwoodworks.com and http://www.flairwoodwork.spaces.live.com)

I'll give the new forum a shot but if it runs like Sawmill Creek I'll say goodbye. It sucks because I really enjoyed this forum.

Umm.....I'm not sure I understand???????
FWW Knots is a good forum, and I think SMC is good as well.
My personal evaluation is based on content, member's participation, and info available...... not technical mechanics.
I've just started hanging out at Sawmill Creek, what with this turning bug I've contracted -- it's a little less sophisticated than this Prospero structure, but in general, it's been pretty good. What are the things that bug you? Perhaps we can avoid some of them here.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Wow! I love this new look to FW! It's so at home, I feel almost like I've been here before!/-]
Yikes. If Knots is getting the same treatment as Breaktime with the software upgrade, it is life or death. The new software sucks, and lots of content looks to have been vaporized.
Well, as long as you don't have to log in, everyone on Knots will be happy. :)
Is this how government run healthcare is going to turn out?
No, but it explains the downfall of religion.
At this stage of the discussion it seems appropriate to suggest that what we need is "more cowbell". Regards,RonAs God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!

downfall of religion? where is that happening? did you mean downfall due to religion?
Just tried some of the links in Breaktime. Five discussion question = 5 404s. (page not found-broken link) I'm sure they will fix but it does not foster confidence.
