Hi All
I just bought a new General International table saw. Two questions to which I could not find the answers to on the web or in the manual that came with the saw .1 What is the “align-a-cut” yellow plastic hole cover for on the table? 2 does the shaft lock on the blade riser assembly need to work? The center knob is not locking anything down after tightening it down, the crank still turns. I cannot see any way that the center knob would lock the shaft down. GMaj

Yellow area: a pencil line or two indicates the left and right side of the blade. If the board to crosscut is marked, its correct (left to right) position can be determined prior to reaching the blade. If you change the blade and kerf, the mark will be imprecise.
I prefer nothing be loose on a TS. That center piece often tightens against the wheel as though it were a nut. Perhaps there is a washer or the like that is missing, so that the piece tightens before it meets the wheel.
Be careful.
Thank YouThat was very helpfull, all is tight and spinning.GMaj
I bought the same saw not to long ago, and found the blade wasn't parellel to the miter slots. It wasn't far off, but you should check it out.

I noticed the same thing and corrected it, thanks for the heads up.
