need some help with a duplicator
I have a gun stock duplicator and I work in a mill shop. I have to duplicate a corbal for an entablature in mahogany. I bought a corbal out of composite material.
My problem is mainly in the bit type selection. I have chisle type bits for the router but my smaller tip bits keep burning the wood. I sharpen the bits with a dimond hone and clean them frequently but this has not helped in the slightest. Please advise on the proper step down tooling from start to finish on an intricate piece. Info on why I’m burning the wood is also appreciated
see if the American Custom Gunmakers Guild has website and/or forum. there are are a few guys in the group who are absolute wizards with those machines. what make/model do you have? Hoenig? Don Allen?
