I am in prison and i am able to build boxes etc. i have no way to get information myself. If anyone can help me, by pointing me in the correct direction, that would be very helpful. I need plans to build a jewelery box with hidden compartments, I would like to know where i can find plans to build Sam Maloff’s rocking chairs. Can any one send me pictures off boxes from around the world. My address is Terry L. King #46713 EDCF P.O.Box 311 El Dorado, KS 67042. I would appreciate any help you can give. I will be glad to write back and correspond with you to gain more knowledge and information.

Cedarman, give us some time and I'm sure some stuff will arrive in the mail. Many of us have excess woodworking magazines that have plans and such in them. Best of luck.
Ummmm, No offense intended CedarMan, but should someone in prison be building boxes with secret compartments?
I would be happy to send you some woodworking magazines, but I don't think they would include anything about secret compartments unless you can give me a legitimate reason why you would need such a thing.

LOL. You are so right Rob. I guess I should have known that my location accompanied with secret compartments sounds pretty terrible. The reason for the secret compartment is because my daughter is in college and necklace that was very treasured by her came up missing. Needless to say I was upset for her when it happened. I just wanted to build her a jewlery box that only she would know has this secret area and be able to keep other things she considered valuable. I do see how you all could think that but it was purely innocent. Anyway you can disregard that request, I'll just suggest she buy a safe or something. Any help on the other stuff like plans for jewelry boxes, rocking chairs, storage boxes(I.e.. blanket chest etc) Does anyone have plans for cribs and bassinets? Thanks again.

CedarMan,
I'm glad you took my observation the way it was meant. That sucks about your daughter getting her stuff stolen. I'll round up some old woodworking magazines that will have some plans in them. I'll try to look for the type of projects you mentioned, but I can't guarantee what I'll find. I don't have any plans outside of what is in the magazines, as I don't use plans. I generally just wing it. :^)
Look through the magazines and see how things are built and pretty soon you will be able to make your own plans for anything you can dream up. Is there any limit on the size of packages you can recieve, or anything like that I should know?
Rob
For christ sake build the man a box with a hacksaw blade in a secret compartment. What a party pooper!
Are you sure you are permitted to receive magazines from third parties?
It would appear from the Kansas DOC regulations that magazines must come directly from the publisher. Attached is the relevant regulation.
It looks like photocopies of plans might be the way to go.

Actually you are correct. Please send me copies of plans and any pictures you may have of the requested items.

How do you know I am in Kansas?
Well..... the address you gave in your first post was a pretty big clue."There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters."

Perhaps Taunton could coordinate a mailing from the Taunton address so that we could give this guy a hand up without divulging the address of our shop and loved ones to he and his associates. Any mods out there that can speak for the forum? Gina? David? Matt?"There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters."

After I sent the reply, I remember that i put it in the post. I felt a little silly when i realized it. LOL

Ok. I had this issue with another poster. I explained it all in a previous post yesterday. May i suggest you look at that post so that you are no longer perplexed. Thank you and have a good day.

Kansas prison inmates don't have Internet access.

I am his wife, Renee, and he asked that I hook into the discussion board and see if i can find him information from people with knowledge of woodworking. You are correct he does not have access to a computer let alone the internet. He learned of this discussion board through his subscription of Fine Woodworking he also subscribes to other woodworking magazines as well. I try to find stuff for him online but i don't have much luck. I was hoping you all could give me various websites and publication that i could use to help him. He worked at a company called Tescott, which was a cabinet and drawer making company. It went under but he is still able to make stuff using the left over wood and he does a real nice job. I am going to post pictures of some of work so you all can see it. Any more questions please let me know.
