I am interested in doing some really fine half models but dont know where to get good scale drawings of ship hulls, or better yet some plans or prints. I would appreciate some direction or some web links or some such help. I am also interested in getting some of the same sort of info on duck decoy plans/drawings. Thanks Folks |

You could try the museum at Mystic Seapport or the Maritime museums in Maine. They all have lines drawings for various ships and other vessels from which you could make half hull models.
You might also check WoodenBoat in Brooklin, Maine. The store sells plans for a number of smaller boats and they have some good reference materials. If you check the WoodenBoat School you're likely to find that they have a class in carving half hull models scheduled for next summer.
Any particular hulls you are interested in?
Thanks for the info I will check out your leads

Go to wooden boat school in Brooklin Maine. The plans they have are very impressive. For the most part they are laminations and half hulls with lofting figures. Take a look.
This is the school associated with Wooden Boat Magazine. You will see a striking similarity to FWW if you look back at John Wilson's start up stuff and the evolution of the mag.
