I I recently lucked into a ’70s monster Konig with a variable speed clutch but when my pen turning friend cranks up the speed it offsets the belt to the point of overheating destruction. Currently an optibelt super VX 17x5x476Li. Right belt? Anyone familiar with this beast. Thanks, Richard

KONIG Variable Speed (Model 2006)
Richard,
I have the Konig model 2006 with variable speed, (an excellent German lathing machine). The manual calls for Optibelt Super VX 17x5x476Li, its a German made belt. The belt can be purchased online.

Steve, just noticed your reply. Thanks. That was the belt that was on it but with the notches in the back and the fact that it seems to overheat at high speeds had me guessing it might not be right. Looked more like a timing belt. Maybe its my pullies. When the lever is pulled down for higher speeds the lower pully pulls the belt left and out of plane with the upper pully causing all the heat. Normal on yours? Also, would loveto have a copy of that manual. Any way I could send you a check and get a copy? Thanks, Richard 512-453-2029, cel 659-4471

Chris,
I have a Konig 2006 5 speed lathe. I have a parts list but have had little success finding an online source for these items. Did you have any more luck?
