Anybody know where to get the double-sided tape and the green tape that Marks’ uses on his videos? I’ve been using the regular double sided tape, but it leaves too much residue. Went to his site and asked. Usless as TOABH. Got lots of pattern routing of small parts to do. Thanks.

Photo shops carry "Dry mounting tape"
I think you have to warm the object to bond.

another option is a vacuum hold down. Carol Reed has a good setp in her book and shows how to make the various hold downs.. additional benefit is that you can use the setup as a vaccum press
Some auto parts stores carry it. That's where I bought mine. The stuff I have was made by 3M
I just use the more expensive double sided carpet tape...
I do not recall ever having a problem using it... But I'm old and forgets stuff...
NA.. I am sure there is better but.. Works fer me so I use it...
Just DO NOT leave it there very long...
DANG.. I just reread? Whatever.. MAKE a small parts holding jig... Yes it is a pain resettin' for each side.. BUT It works better en tape!

Yep,
That carpet tape works well. Not sure which one is the expensive one, but the cloth tape is perfect, whereas the resin tape leaves residue and is very difficult to take off. HD/Lowes sell both types.
Woodcraft sells some for turning, may be the same??

We use it all the time, black double stick tape, check with a plastics supply house. Sorry I'm not sure who our vendor is.
Another option that works well is a hot glue gun....
I use the Intertape brand of double sided tape. It tears easily, leaves no residue and sticks well. They also make a green masking tape!
I think that Hillas is the supplier I bought from ( http://www.hillas.com/Products/Intertape_Products/Default.asp ) but I can't decipher their product labelling to figure out which tapes I boght. Basically their 2" and 3/4" tapes.
Good luck

Yep double sided carpet tape, dosen't leave any residue behind.

I didn't see the show but I believe the product could be a 3m product.
401B 1"X36YD 5 Mil 3M Double Coated Tape
which is available from http://WWW.MSCDIRECT.COM page 3352
MSC part no is 00188680.
The tape separator is a green tartan pattern. I have used this for attaching various jigs and although its tough stuff it removes cleanly. It is much stronger then carpet tape. Hope this helps.
Speaking of carpet, if you can blow out the dust around your workpiece, carpet padding also works well to hold the work while you rout.
