Funny-last week I posted a question about cutting thin(veneer) cuts, and am now denied access so I can thank the respondents.
I probably didn’t express my desires well. I want to cut the Koa into 1/16-1/8 in sheets. Not the thin, 1/32-1/64in sheets. Do any know of a place in Colorado that would have a bandsaw that big? Koa is 3x36x5ft.

Nice to hear from a thankful person
Hear is one good place to learn about "real veneer" and making it ; among other things real.

I'm all for that
36" resaw capacity
I'd look for a mill or milling service that uses a horizontal bandsaw for milling logs. The big question would be whether the blade remains stable enough to cut off slices that thin, not to mention how much material you'd "donate" to the kerf.
Custom milling
If you're in the Front Range you can try TC Woods, they specialize in Urban harvesting and I believe do custom milling. http://www.tcwoods.com/
There is also a small mill of Colorado 93 between Golden and Boulder, "Olde Time Mill", not sure he does custom milling but he certainly has the machinery to do so.
A couple of the faculy at Red Rocks CC Fine Woodworking program have thier own portable mills, you can contact the shop and see if one of them is interested.
Then there's Craigslist, I've come across posts for custom milling on CS, never know what you'll get but who knows?
Good luck
I'm returning to CO tomorrow, so I'll try calling those guys.
Thanks again
Stef
