I am looking for some ball bearing drawer slides, full-extension, for a 4′ deep drawer. Think ‘map drawers’. In terms of weight requirement, not that much -very shallow drawers. Does anyone know where I can get some that long? The usual sources like Woodcraft, WW Supply, etc, seem to go up to 28 or 30″, no more. Any suggestions?

Accuride carries a heavy duty line which you can see on their web site:

The model is 9301. Looks like it comes as deep as 60 inches and carries hundreds of pounds. Don't know the cost. but I think that for something this deep you'll pay dearly. At least for this model.

rockler sells those super-long accurides
Ever hear of Wharton Esherick. His elelgant and inexpensive solution was to put runners on the cabinet door sides. Opening the doors 90 degrees gave that full extension with simple side cleat drawer runners.

Could you use two 24" slides on each side? Mount them back to back on a piece of plywood that would float between the drawer and the cabinet side. You'd have to derate the weight capacity because of the extra leverage when fully extended.
The Accuride 34" I found listed for $126.99 and the 60" for $ 259.99, they list a 48"version that would be somewhere in between.I believe I found those prices on the Rockler website.
http://www.wwhardware.com has a full selection of big drawer slides.
