Hi I’m looking for a moisture meter. I see them priced from$19.99 to over $300.00
Are there any features to look for? And what is the lowest % of moisture should it be able to read down to,some I saw went down to 6% Thanks Rick

I like the pinless variety. They allow you to take the meter to the lumber yard and check what you are buying. Not many places would let you drive pins 1/4" deep into boards to check moisture content.
It is also helpful to be able to adjust for the density of the wood. Otherwise you will have to work a table to adjust the readings for different wood species.
Six percent is certainly low enough, and you probably don't need to go below 8%, particularly if you live in parts of the country where is green without irrigation.
Rick, I'm not sure why you're not getting more responses, but there have been 2 recent threads about moisture meters in the ~$100 range. Try a search see if you can find them.
IIRC, the concensus was to stay away from the $30 cheapos. There are 2 or 3 well-known models right around $100 that will give you the info you need. The ones I remember are the MiniLigno and the TimberCheck.
