I am trying to sharpen a miller falls 1. The curve and size of the iron make it awkward. Has any one seen a jig used for this or have advice on a good way?

Presumably you mean a MF # 1 spoke shave, they also had a #1 plane and a #1 drill. Tools for Working Wood make a reproduction of the shave and they include instructions for sharpening the blade. If you contact them they can probably supply you with the info you need.
