I usually just come in here to lurk but I cant find any info on micro pinners, specifically Cadex brand.
While reading the latest issue of FWW I came across the add for Cadex nailers. http://www.cadextools.com/
Was wondering if any body has used them, knows anything about the company, or if there is a pinner out there that you would suggest.
I had the Senco shp10(I believe that was the model) but it took a header off the ladder and fell to the concrete, completely destroying it. I don’t like the new Senco pinner, seams to much like the Accuset, and I don’t care for them.
The Cadex can shot a nail 1 3/16 long, that would be nice when needed so that’s a plus.
Thanks for any information

Never heard of Cadex, so can't comment.
What do you dislike about the Senco pinner (we're talking 22-23 ga., right?)? I am sort of kicking tires on one of these, and the guy I trust most at my local tool supplier (and they sell virtually every brand of nailer) highly recommends it.
I don't like the Senco because its to much like the Accuset. We have Accuset guns in our shop and they all seem to have problems, of coarse the fact that half the workers use them for hammers don't help matters!
The old Senco headless was great, but I cant find one, plus I though with this Cadex being able to shot 1 3/16" pins that that might be worth looking at.
I think that the Omar shots a longer pin but they are pretty pricey. I have also heard that Bostich has one but I have found nothing on it.

I had a PC pinner and returned it because it wouldn't set the pin deep enough. It's a problem with the drive pin, can be fixed by reshaping the end of the drive pin but why should I have to fix their design flaw.

I've never heard of the Cadex brand, but my Senco 23 gauge pinner is one of the most useful tools I've ever owned. The only time it fails to completely set the pin is if I try to get too much of an angle - or if I let it 'bounce' when I pull the trigger. If the work is well supported and I stay reasonably close to perpendicular, it works perfectly every time.

I had a older style Senco, liked it a lot, but I think they discontinued that particular model(shp10).
I dont care for the newer Senco's because they remind me of the Accuset, I dont care for them, maybe I'm a bit biased though because of the ones I see in our shop.
Might just have to get one and try it out.
Thanks

I have the Omer 23 ga. pinner and love it. It drives pins up to 1 3/16" into the hardest maple I've put it up against. I've heard from others that the Senco does not consistently set the pins...the Omer does, even at severe angles.
Pricey, though. Think I paid about $250 for mine. My wife made me do it.
The only pin nailer I have used is a Duofast, does a great job. I have a friend that bought a Harbor Freight pin nailer, he likes it. I haven't seen it yet, I usually don't buy anything from them and don't plan to.

I'll second that on the HF stuff.
I didnt know that Duofast made a pinner, I'll have to look at it.
Thanks
