I just bought a sheet of MDF. I want to cut it into various size/shape pieces and spray they with that black paint that creates chalk-board surfaces for my daughters’ rooms. I have kept it in my garage for three days and it stinks. I am concerned about what that offgassing might do in a child’s bedroom. Anyone with any experience in this area?
Thank you.

Thanks. I'll look for that. John
You do know that you can buy chalkboard material already 'done up' and ready to cut, don't you?

Certain kinds of MDF do off-gas a lot. We have a daughter with ASD and she is very sensitive to off-gassing from many manufactured woods. The low formaldehyde MDF is very good, and does not affect her at all.
Wasn't doubting or minimizing the problem.
