I AM THE NOT SO PROUD OWNER OF A ORIENTIAL CLONE OF A DELTA 14″ BANDSAW. IT WAS OK FOR WHAT I ORIGINALLY BROUGHT IT BUT NOW I WOULD LIKE TO DO SOME REASONABLE RESAWING AND THE TENSION BOTTOMS OUT WAY BEFORE THERE IS ENOUGH TENSION ON THE BLADE. A FRIEND SAID I SHOULD TRY A LOW TENSION BLADE. CAN ANY ONE GIVE ME SOME FEED BACK ON HOW THAT MAY WORK

LOW TENSION BLADE?
hehe.....
No such thing, try buying a aftermarket spring from Iturra Designs.
If you really want to resaw you need a saw that is capable of tensioning a blade to where it will not bow while sawing. Buy a thin narrow blade. Try a .025" 1/4" 6tpi hook.
PS: almost any new sharp blade will work great the first few feet of cutting. The test is how well it works after a few hundred feet of resawin'.
The proof is in the puddin'

I had an 18" Grizzly and it would not get the tension on a band saw blade because the upper arm was bending down. I Modified the thing by putting a brace between the upper arm and the lower casting, close to the blade. Now it's time for a lot of people to jump in and say how dangerous that is. Grizzly said that you do not need the tension high. It would not resaw any other way. I couldn't believe that the upper arm would move so much that even with an Itura spring, I could not get the tension, So I did some simple tests. I was wrong. It could bend down a whole lot.
Good luck Mert
