All,
In preparation for the holiday season I have a request from my son (6yr old) for an advent calendar. Given the short time, would any one know if any plans exist? <!—-><!—-><!—->

raul,
are you going to make one from wood? including all the little doors? with the chocolates behind them?
one question, where will you get the tiny hinges?
eef
I made a couple a few years ago from balsa & hinges were 'push-in' for eggery from AC Moore. Dates and pix were from 2 old calenders glued on.
knuts,
"...hinges were push-in for eggery..."one can hinge an egg? eef
Yep...things are maybe 1/4" long. I think that really small holes are bored into the shell then the tiny tabs are folded over. Think Faberge Eggs (Russian). I pressed the tabs over a drop of epoxy into the balsa frame.
very interesting. by way of minor coincidence, a friend showed me a tool he had recently acquired. it was invented, or developed, by a dentist and looks and sounds like the torture instrument dentists use on the general population to make holes in people's teeth. one of the more exciting uses of this modified drill is the "carving" of eggs into highly ornate works.

The idea is to make it from wood. As for the hinges..., I am looking for a plan to outline these details. I have seen some that use a small rod to mount the door to the frame. Any other suggestions are much appreciated.
Thanks
