I’ve been on a quest recently to really upgrade my equipment and skills. In addition to moving from a contractor saw to a cabinet saw, I’ve been adding some essential hand tools. My latest arrival is the Lie-Nielsen closed throat router plane. This is one fine piece of iron. The plane arrived with a scary sharp iron and cut like a dream right out of the box. The fit and finish are exceptional and the castings are perfect.
Now to pick up some smaller irons and start doing some inlay work.

Congrats
Have fun with your new router plane. I have yet to be disappointed by any tool from L-N.
This is my first LN purchase, but if the quality of this plane is an example of their line it certainly won't be my last. Don't tell our resident whine bag, but I've been a professional woodworker for a lot of years. I've always concentrated on machine skills in the past, but I've reached a point where I can dig back into the craftsman side of woodworking. I had forgotten the feel of a good plane.
With minimal fine tuning I've felt ln's are the only perfect tools I own - if they aren't don't break my bubble!
