Thinking about purchasing one of these, either the LT14SE or S45. I think either one would be sufficient. I just don’t know if I should spend a little more.
I’d just like some thoughts comparing Laguna to Laguna, Mini Max to Minni Max. I’m stuck on these brands, so no General, Jet, Agrandazzi.
Why do folks choose the higher end models from these manufacturers? Why would you choose the LT16HD over the LT14SE, or the MM18 over the S45?
Almost all the other posts compare one manufacturer to the other. I’d really like to know when enough is enough.

Have you checked out MM & Laguna's video about their BS's? These videos will answer a lot of your questions
I just went through a 3 month process of elinination and ended up purchasing the Mini Max MM16. I was very impressed with the feedback in all the different forums on how well Mini Max customer service treated their customers AFTER the sale! I am so tired of being forgotten after the money changes hands! The salesperson that I worked with at Mini Max was great. No high pressure tactics, and no "what will it take to have you buy a machine today" stuff. I saw the MM16 at work during the Buffalo WoodWorking show in January, and it was so quiet that you had to be right on top of it to hear it running. It is a beautiful machine. Lastly, you may want to check out this article. Good luck in your choice, and enjoy the purchase!

Hi,
Godluck on your bandsaw purchase.
Heres the true low down, as I see it.
I have a LT16 (the old version-glad to say) you see Laguna Lowered the standard of the LT16 recently to compete with the s45, yaeh the one with the spoaked wheels. Lagunas new LT16 is good looking and has heavy wheels, no tension meter, or brake option. Why your looking at the lt14 I have no idea (apples And oranges) And why your comparing the mm18 to the New lt16 is again (apples and oranges). If you haven't gone to the laguna web site, you should because you comparing wrong. An MM18 is an 18 inch bandsaw why are you trying to compare it to an s45 competitor(The LT16) You know Laguna does make a 18 inch bandsaw too. I fact they have a really nice LT16HD it competes with the mm16 on the high end of the 16" They even made the resaw 13" awhile after mini max did. You see the compete with each other.
As I've told people, mini max is a good saw. So is mine.
