jorgesen cabinet master clamp question
bought my first pair of jorgesen cabinet master 48″ clamps
well, thought i knew how to use a bar clamp
now i have the faces on one of them clamped together and can’t figure out how to get them apart. there is a lever type mechinism in it that right now has minimal movement.
any suggestions?
thanks in advance

Copied this from a post on Woodnet. The subject has been covered there several times, try a search on Woodnet.
9 times out of 10 you don't need a screwdriver. See if this works:
1) Turn the handle counter-clockwise as far as it will go.
2) With your palm, or a mallet, bump it up (away from the bar).
3) Pull it back.
thanks
just got it apart but will remember this
had the hand screw loose and a little pressure with a pry and it pooped freemy guess right now is that you need to keep that metal lever bwtween the posts, not to close to either end.bobl Volo Non Voleo

Just a tip I found out after much frustration. When releasing the clamp, screw it counter-clock-wise till it almost will not go any farther. Then lift the wooden handle slightly and it will release easily. Before I figured this out, I spent several minutes trying to release and get the jaws to slide back. Since, I love the Jorgy's. ha..ha..
