Greetings all,
Although I’ve been reading FW for a lot of years, this is my first post in the forum. I’m in desperate need of some help/advice. I want to upgrade my jointer from 8″ to 12″. A local used machinery dealer has a used 12″ Invicta jointer at an attractive price. I’ve checked the Invicta web site and although it describes some of the machine attributes it doesn’t tell all. Is anyone familiar with the Invicta brand? How does the fence move in/out? Does the company stand behind their product ie. are parts and service easily obtainable? Any information you could contribute would be appreciated.

I have seen ads, but not the machines. There were notes on this forum tot he effect taht this was the Delta line, whie made in Brazil,. I think. Ifg you search Invicta on this forum you may find some info.
s4s is right, you'll get 10 hits (including yours) on an "invicta" search. Hint for your post: a lot of Knotheads are going to cruise right past "Jointer Upgrade" without even looking at it. "Invicta" in your title would have gotten more responses.

The old Rockwell/Delta 13" planer made by Invicta was a good machine; superior imho to what Delta has now. There are machinery dealers that carry new Invicta machines; might be worth it to contact them about parts availability.
Ron, about one year ago I was in the same search for an upgrade from my 8" Delta jointer to a 12". I ended up with a 16" MiniMax with Tersa cutter head. I'm totally pleased with it. I would recommed talking to Jesse at Eagle Tools in Calif. He carries both Invicta and MiniMax and would give you good advice.
