The table saw joining jig in the 201 tips page 54, and FW T&S #195, page 38 both have this jig that I would like to build. I get a lot from the drawing but some details or plans would be nice. Is it 8′ long? Is the miter slider 4-2′ sliders in series? The T track and hold downs are obvious to me.
thank you

Can't comment on the article but you can make a simple ripping jig to straighten edges up to 8' on the table saw. Just rip a piece of 3/4" plywood a bit wider than your lumber. Simply attach the board to the plywood and align the edge. You can screw it down on the ends or mount hold down clamps. Pass it through the saw at the same fence setting. No need for miter slot bars or anything fancy.
