Jet air filter has a mind of its own
I have a pretty new Jet AFS-2000 air filtering system that has developed a mind of its own. It will change speeds, or go on the timer, or just turn off at random times. Anyone have a similar experience, or experience dealing with JET repairs? I’d hate to take it out of the shop for a month, as it otherwise does a good job of sucking up airborne dust.

I had a Jet AFS 1000 unit develop the same problem around Christmas. It was only a few months old. The warranty tech at Jet looked up the price of the motor and chip board, then decided it was just as cheap to replace the entire unit under warranty. I got a new unit within 2 weeks. I just gave the old unit away to someone who had a motor they thought would work. Haven't heard back about if they were able to fix it.
Even if they only warranty the motor, I don't think it would be difficult to replace. There isn't much going on inside those things.
Good luck,
David
If there's one thing I hate, it's an air filtration system with personality.
