Jack plane with single skewed iron – ever see one?
Hellos,
I have a strange plane! It is is commercially (probably Danish) made wooden jack style (19″ / 500mm) with a 2″ (51mm) single skewed iron (no chip breaker) and a really tight mouth.
It is not a Rabbet and there is no evidence of a fence (e.g., not a panel raiser).
Does anyone know what this plane is indended for?
Thanks!
Derek

Interesting
I'm not sure what skewing the iron on a jack gains, since the entire plane can be skewed in relation to the cut direction to do the same thing.
If it was intended for shooting-board use, I'd think the grip would be on the side.
Ah! Shoot!
A friend of mine had the same thought. He noticed the scuff marks on the side of the plane too which suggested shooting. He sent me a catalog picture of a real Danish shooting plane(s) too.
