I have a bottle of ‘100%’ tung oil – before I start in with it, is there any way to tell if it’s polymerized or not? If it doesn’t say anything about polymerization on the bottle, is that a virtually-sure thing that it’s not?
And, this bottle’s probably a year old, but hasn’t noticeably thickened or gelled (very tightly closed, not much air in the top of the bottle) – if the consistency is still good, is it likely OK to use?
Summer’s pretty much arrived here, and with our summertime 80%+ humidity, I’m concerned that non-polymerized tung oil won’t fully cure till Thanksgiving …
TIA,
Clay
