A few years ago I purchased a Craftsman 1/2 sheet inline and orbital sander. The sander is loud and vibrates considerably, but I like the inline motion for finish sanding. I have yet to find another brand of sander that offers the inline motion. Any suggestions?

I just repaired about 15 tools that were laying around for years, 3 of them were Porter Cable finish sanders. They have 4 rubber posts that got rigid over time, transmitting vibration and noise to the top of the tool. They work like new now. I found out that all the tool companies have websites where you can look at exploded views of the tools, copy the part #s down and order them by phone. They ever have tech support to help you diagnose tool problems. I enjoy saving money by doing repairs myself rather sending out the tools. This might be the only way to have an inline sander for you.
Inline pneumatic sanders are used in auto body shops. I think I saw one at Harbor Frieght last week.
