I bought Infinity's extra long Rabbet Combo kit (1") to custom make a window sill nosing extension. The kit did not include the bearing size that I needed but their customer service rep figured out which size I did need based on the dimensions I provided and included it at no extra charge. The bit worked like a charm, Nice clean cuts. I'm in the process of ordering more bits from them right now. They've got sales and promos going on now.

I have had some Infinity bits that worked very well also.
No, it was a man. He seemed quite knowledgeable and definitely very hrlpful.
does anybody know if Infinity is 'related' to Jesada?

I'm not positive, but I don't think so. Jesada bits are still around (or were a few months ago) but being sold on someone else's web site.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
I thought I read/heard that someone from Jesada left and started Infinity.
Might have been here at knots, not sure now.

Binnnggggggo! See this Woodworker's Journal eZine article. "But prior to that, he'd spent five years with a router bit company."
There's one part that didn't set well with me:
"Interestingly, the company does not advise re-sharpening. The grind tolerances on the bits are so precise that re-sharpening can throw it out of balance … not to mention voiding the warranty. "forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
I believe the person who bought Jessada is the father of the owner of Infinity. There was a posting with a chronolgy of the purchase of Jessada and the son going to work there and eventually starting up Infinity. I can't remember where I read it, but I think it was at this site.
I ordered a laundry list of bits from one of the Jesada mailers; included in that order was their matched, two piece Rail & Stile set. Every bit ordered performed without any negative comments; that is until I set-up the S&R bit set.
Seeing as I started sweeping-up my own sawdust from an 8" Dunlop tilting table saw some 40+ years ago, AND I still can order 5 beers with either hand, I think I can set-up two router bit profiles to mate. Even with a router lift where one crank raises/lowers by 1/32", I couldnot get the pair to bed right. Not to be outdone, the set-up was attempted no less than6 times, days and weeks apart. There was a difference in the radius of the "bead" which would not seat in the rail's concave profile.
I met with the Jesada rep. when the traveling WW'er show made it's annual appearance. He satisified my complaint by offering to swap-out for a replacement set.
Some 10 weeks later, the mailman left a 5" cube box. The replacement bits had arrived. The shocker was reading the return address; Infinity Razor.
This "matched set" was labeled properly. With minimal set-up stress, I milled a sellable frame within 15 minutes, start to finish.
I do have one complaint, however. All of the bits I bought from Jesada were not only well covered in "Dip-It", they were mounted in a decently engineered dust-tight, hard plastic storage box. While the Infinity bits were well coated with "Dip-Ip", unfortunately they were then packaged in a cheap-a** snap closure plastic pouch. They may have arrived intact in that thoughtless pouch, but they can't be stored in that mannor.
Complaint two...Considering that no one would attempt running any brand R&S sets without a table mounted router, how about some attention to extra-length shanks to allow for the bit height loss from the table plate thickness. Those who want to use a sled for the cope cuts, will have to seat the cutter a little higher-up in the collet than what they may feel comfortable doing. How much more would it cost to make the shank an additional 1/2" longer on the R&S bit sets. The "No-Fit" Jesada bit set was a tad longer. With the Infinity bit set, I was not able to use the same sled.
Usually, it's a tiny detail that makes something sing.
In this instance, the singing was off-key.
Infinity is owned and run by the son of the guy ( Carlo Vindetta ) who imported CMT bits then started Jessada after the real CMT sued him ( Carlo ). Jessada was sold then went chapter seven. Carlo came up with the Jessada name from his kids: Jessica, Sara and David. David runs Infinity and sells " stuff " made from various manufacturers.
Too bad, some of Jessada's bits were very good. I won't buy a thing from Infinity.
Go back a few years and read the test FWW did on straight router bits, it's great reading. Created a buzz here at Knots but that's before many of the current "kontheads" were around.
I'd forgotten about this post (from March)...... I've since bought some Infiniti bits but don't have enough time on them to make a fair judgement yet. I agree about Jesada- thought they made some great bits. I'm curious as to why you won't buy anything from Infiniti......... might it be that they sub out the manufacturing of their bits?
I bought a window sash set from Jessica's web site (early in July). When I got it, it was an infinity set. The set is okay. But I didn't like the switch and I could have saved a few bucks buying from infinity web site. I don't like the cheap plastic baggie they came in.
All said, I don't think I'll buy from Jessica or Infinity again.
I have a couple - the rabetting set included and am extremley happy with them.
