importing a scanned jpg into sketchup
I imported a scanned drawing into sketchup with the idea of tracing over the pieceto use in something i’m designing. When I try to trace over the imported item my arc tool and pencil tool just make a bunch of cazy lines and spots all over my sketchup drawing. I am running sketchup on a mac. I tried importing as a tif. file and got the same results. Thanks for any help

Without seeing a screen grab, I would guess you have an OpenGL issue. there are a couple of things to try. First, in the menu under SketchUp on the top toolbar, click on Preferences and then OpenGL. Try changing the various settings there and see if things change. The exact settings are dependent on video card type, video drivers and stuff so there's no exact formula for what combination of check boxes to use.
The other thing to do is check for the lastest video driver and install the latest one.
I suspect that the image you are importing is a fairly large file size and you might also get away with reducing its size in an image editor.
