I’m making a TV cabinet with a fixed bottom shelf for the gear that supports the TV. The space is about 10″ by 48″ so I thought two doors (matching a larger set for the TV area above) would look wrong and just not work/swing well. So I thought I make this a drawer front and swing them down. But I’m not sure how to do that. Thought of butler hinges but woudn’t that make the bottom too short. I’d appreciate you all helping me think through this. All ideas welcome…and don’t be afraid to tell me I’m missing the obvious.

I've done that on a couple of projects and have these pictures of a computer desk I made a few years ago.
The "drawer" is actually a pull out tray for a printer and the drawer front drops down so the tray can be pulled out. The drawer front is held up by a magnetic catch (The blue tape in the picture was temporary - lol).
IIRC, I got the hinges from Rockler and spent some time fooling around with scrap wood to figure out the best locations for the cup holes.
Hi Ron ,
You can use old fashioned self closing cabinet door hinges on the bottom edge they will hold the fronts up also.
Another way to go you could put 2 drawers fronts attached to whatever shelving you need to be able to roll out the components for easy access or just drawers .

I just looked at one in the bedroom and I used 2 butt hinges on the bottom and a bullet catch on top.
Another thought would be to use pin sliders at the top corners, like the "doors" on a barrister's bookcase.
