Just curious, but how many clamps do you have? I was recently asked this and guessed 90. This is my count:
26 Spring Clamps from 1″-3″
(4) 41″ K-Body Clamps
(8) 24″ Jet Parallel Jaw Clamps
(20) 6″ QuickGrip XP Clamps
(8) 20″ Aluminum Bar Clamps
(4) 72″ Aluminum Bar Clamps
(40) Light-Duty Bar Clamps from 4″-36″
(2) 12″ Fast Action (QuickGrip knock-off) Clamps
(4) Bessey Corner Clamps
(1) El Cheapo Corner Clamp
For a total of… 117? Is that enough?

Good grief - I dunno - we are neck-and-neck - here is what I can readily see:
12 parallel - 2 bessey 10 gross stabil, 41" - 80"
36 pony pipe 3/4" in sections from 10' pipe - 1/4 pipe, 1/2 pipe, fullpipe
12 jorgy f-style 12" - 36"
24 jorgy C-clamps for cauls - half 6" half 8"
12 Gross Stabil heavy-duty F-style I jsut got from Rockler - on sale - whatta clamp, whatta deal - half 12" half 24". Got them soley because the price could not be beat, and I had none.
10 quick clamps 12" - 36"
assorted Bessey miter clamps, jorgy edge clamps, jorgy band clamps, spring clamps, misc mickey-mouse small and deep-throat c-clamps. You know the drill.
I think you won by a couple.
Uncle. But - I'm gaining
Chris,
I believe you have far more clamps than you have listed. I have a lot of elastic bands, ranging from the small ones you buy in an office store, to a set of ten that said they were made for furniture. I often clamp with rope, twisted and pinned (like a bowsaw), and with rubber bands.
Four right angles (made of wood) and a rope are a good way to square things while clamping them.
I also clamp by wedging ( two acute angles facing each other and give them a tap).
Sometimes I uses screws to clamp things.
If I counted all of the things in my shop that I use as clamps, it might well number in the thousands (OK so I overstated by a few :-)
Have fun,
Mel

You overlooked the famous "bue tape".
Spotcheck,
You are right. I overlooked blue tape, duct tape, etc, as well as my hands, which I often use in clamping things when using fast drying epoxies.
Wow. You are good. Are you in Quality Control? :-)

Ummm......Nope.
However, I have been know to forget to have everything laid out up front, and then yell " holy critters" as the glue is lookjng back at me, and then grab something handy, though. Which is why the wall above my back bench holds f-style & c-clamps, and one of the top drawers holds about 18 different kinds, colors, and widths of tape. And the drawer next to it has dozens of small clamping blocks of different sizes and thicknesses, all covered with glue-proof carton packing tape. Too many screwups to not learn and get the mission-critical stuff handy.
How could I have forgotten about duct tape? Yikes. When I get down to 1-1/2 rolls, I restock. never-never-never run out of duct tape. Or blue tape.

117 clamps? You may be suffering from too-clampsia. ;-)
It's tough to have too many clamps, though.
Ow - I pinched a nerve.I brought my Jet clamps back as a carry-on (by airplane). I wasn't sure if they'd make it through security. But then I though: the purpose of clamps is to secure things. So why would security disallow clamps through?Chris @ http://www.flairwoodworks.com and http://www.flairwoodwork.spaces.live.com)
