I bought a rather nice Craftsman Jack plane from about 1950 on Ebay. The plane has the original box and owners manual. I have scanned it into a 5MB PDF file. This manual contains a lot of information about sharpening, maintenance, as well as part numbers, etc. I think it would be very interesting reading for many members. Is there a way I can upload it?

Maximum file size to upload here is 4 MB, and you will find an "Attach Files" section toward the bottom of the page that you use to start a new thread. For whatever bizarre reason, only the person who starts a thread is allowed to upload an attachment.
You could host it in the space your ISP provides you (usually called a Personal Web Page or something along those lines). You'd have to find out from them how to transfer it to your space (usually use what's called an "FTP client" -- it's not hard, but has to be done precisely).
If there is a page in there that viewers wouldn't miss, you could take it out, see if you get within the 4MB max file size.
