Hello,
I have recently found a old workbench with much character that I plan on resurrecting, however the holdfast “collar” (or “insert”) that bolts to workbench surface is missing. It looks like a flanged bushing.
Anyone know a source for a replacement metal holdfast collar (or insert) that bolts to the c-bore in the benchtop. Typically they are made of cast iron I believe.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Ben

Ben,
In England, Axminster tools sell these holdfasts, which include a large, flanged collar that sets into the bench. The collar is round with someting like a 32mm diameter for the body and 72mm for the flange.

You can buy the collars separate from the holdfast. I got 3, only one of which is in the bench so far; the others await the demands of a future project so I know where to place them.....
