The top is made from HDPE plastic 3/4″ thick and fence is made for 80/20 extrusions and has a Woopecker Insert for a PC that I just re-drilled for a Millwaukee 3 1/2hp
I am still planning some micro adjusters and will add more pics tonight and increase the size of all for your viewing pleasure..
Total cost was about $50-$70 no counting the insert..
All raw materials came from eBay
Thanks for looking

Johnny,
Looks pretty slick. How big is the top and what material did you use to reinforce it? Did you center the router mount or offset it?

Pictures have been edited and made larger
The top is 3/4" x 24" x42"
I think its 5" to the back of the router plate so about 10" to bit..
The reinforcing pieces is also HDPE plasticI used 1/4-20 screws and drilled and tapped the top..I just modded the reinforcing today, the top warped after I added then miter slot so I need to extend the inner pieces all the way across, I used to of the fence material,
I post more pics in a few daysI still need to add a fine adjuster to fence..
rarebear,
It looks like it was a lot of fun to make. Nice work. I was concerned about the rigidity of the 3/4" HDPE.
Also, 3/4 didn't give you a lot of tolerance when tapping for the screws. You look like you build like me -- exactingly.
Anyway, I'll bet the top will be a joy to slide work over. Do you think it might scratch over time?
I'm surprised by the low cost of everything. How much was the fence bar stock?

Top does have a few scratches if it gets bad I'll add some type of metal like SS and use contact cement..
I'll hoping it works well like my table saw fence does..
For the fence materail I really cant remember as I have had for two years now
Here is two 1x2x54 pieces I just won for $20.50http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220204593855 Shipping was $13
Like I had said look for Auctions not Buy It NowThey have Metric and Fraction Extrusitons 25.4MM=1"
So you would look for 25x50 or 25x75 and I would not mix and match if used for fence only..
Their is also some great deals on alum angle and other stock at Online-Metal-Supplyhttp://stores.ebay.com/Online-Metal-Supply -rarebear-http://www.rexmill.com My Hand Plane Resource
That's an awesome piece. Congratulations.
I saw the Snapper in the background, thought it was a new shop tool and was all set to buy one. The I got a closer look.

Yeah, "The Snapper" is definately on my short list of must haves!
Cool table. Looks like it will last forever the way you screwed it together. I had a snapper once and wore it out. They are wonderful if you can find one.
This thing is about 30 years old the Snapper plant is only about 10 miles down the road, thing just keeps going with a few minor parts now and then..
My neighbors have gone threw about two or three big band mowers in this time and cant believe this thing is still in use :)-rarebear-http://www.rexmill.com My Hand Plane Resource
