I bought a house and the house came with a very old appearing Power Kraft table saw. It appears to working okay. I plugged it in and the motor ran with no obvious problems. The fence and mitre gauge appear original and functional. The table is in pretty good shape. It weighs a lot. The model number is 84TTN2296A and the factory number is 54 1938. The belt that is there appears to be new and about two inches too long? But I really haven’t figured out yet if there is an easy way to adjust the tightness of the belt. The only problem I found so far is that the fence was way out of square which I think I fixed. And one of the clips holding the motor in place appears to be missing.
Does anyone know anything about this saw? Is it worth saving? Would it have value to anyone and if so how do I find that person to sell it to them? I don’t know that I have the knowledge and or patience to fix it up myself but may be if I could get a manual or something I could muddle my way through? Is it worth bringing it into a repair shop to have them give it a major tune up? Its a pretty cool saw but I don’t really need to spend alot to fix it up as I already have two table saws.
Thanks in advance for any input. Brian

It seems like that was the brand that Montgomery Wards sold back in the 60 ~ 70's. I think the quality was poor.

sorry but its garbage!!
sold in canada by eatons and in the states by montgomeryward
biggest problems?, table isnt flat, fence system an excercise in futility, motor barely adequete, origanal blade? forget it
toss it before you hurt yourself
Too much bad info out there.
Saw was made by http://toolkraft.com/ Not an old saw by any means.
No its actually not made by tool Kraft. I found that same web site by doing a google search and e-mailed them with the model number and they replied that they definately didn't make it and have no parts for it. I assume its because it is older than that. The first link I got said that they made power tools with that name in atleast 1940. Although at first look I couldn't find an exact match for the model number on that web site there are many similar numbers.
