   I haven't seen this stuff for sale in at least 15 years.  It was wood dyed black to resemble ebony.  It was made by a company in Michigan which now appears to be out of business.    There's another company that makes something similar -- http://www.colorply.com/home.html.   If you're looking for black-dyed veneer, most veneer and marquetry supplies sell it.
