Help With Designing A Tool Chest Plan
*
Can anyone tell me where to find a measured drawing of a Gerstner tool chest? I can’t afford to buy one so I want to build one for myself. I am aware of many of the plans that are out on the Web but none meet my needs/wants. I am interested in making a “faithful” reproduction of a Gerstner but am having problems with my reverse engineering: How thick is the cabinet stock? How are the drawer slides attached? How thick are the partition pieces and do they run the full depth of the carcass? Where is veneer used? How far beyond the back of the drawer do the sides extend to form the stop?… As you can see I have more questions than answers!
If anyone has the answers to these questions or owns a Gerstner and is willing to measure it out for me I would really appreciate your help.

Murry; If you go too the http://www.leevalley.com they have a plan for a machinist's tool chest. It has frame and panel front and back so may not be exactly what you want, but it is not expensive and would probably answer most of your questions concerning construction etc.
