I just checked a couple of sheets and it's not marked. I think its 2000 grit.

In my reading I don't recall any source defining it by a specific number. I recall it being described as suitable for polishing metal. I'd guess #1000, but that's just a guess. If I remember correctly, the material is iron oxide.
Not sure what the grit is either...but you can't tell much difference between the front and the back of a sheet. The cloth back might even be "coarser".
