hello to all-just got home from 2 weeks in sunny texas, thankyou texas. I have a( hopefully small) question-I have just noticed on a project that I have finished that there is a glue spot under about 5 layers of clear poly I don’t know how I missed it but now I need some advice on how to remove it. Not sure if I can just sand the spot or do I have to refinish the whole top. any advice would sure be appreciated, sincerely, bob

I'm surprised no one has answered. How big is the spot? Can only you see it? If yes, maybe you should do nothing. Is the spot in that just-perfect location to add a penny (to date the work) or your signature? If you satin-finish the surface would it obscure the spot? With poly refinishing might be your only option.
thanks for the reply benM. I was wondering about that also.
the problem with the spot is it is righjt on the top of a walnut piece. If the light hits it just right it shows up as a dull mark. The size of it is about 1" square. I suppose I'm just a perfectionist, my wife sais to leave it alone but I know if I don't fix it , it will bother me every time I look at it, sincerely, bob
There has been some flaw in every piece I have ever built. Something that I wish hadn't happened, or that I know I will do better the next time. But I finally have accepted that it is better to do another piece than to redo the same one again and again... Some of the flaws that almost made me start over, I can't even find any more!
If you wife is happy, maybe you need to make the next piece - worry about coming back to fix this one when you have nothing more to do. ________________________Charlie Plesums Austin, Texashttp://www.plesums.com/wood
