Hello, everyone,
I recently posted a message on this site, bemoaning the poor performance I was receiving from an 10″ FS Tools melamine-cutting blade I had purchased at my local saw-sharpening service centre. When I complained to the company I had purchased it from, they told me that I was the first individual to ever complain about that particular blade. They recommended I reset my fence to ensure it’s parallel to the blade. When I told them that I used a micrometer-style set-up jig, they merely repeated the same advice. Thinking perhaps that the blade may have been improperly ground at the factory, I brought it in for them to look at and to have it resharpened. They told me when I returned to pick it up, that there was nothing at all wrong with the blade. And, yes, you guessed it, I had the same results… and the company from which I purchased the blade repeated their “advice” to me when I told them how the freshly-sharpened blade performed. Knowing that they were clearly not interested in helping me with my difficulties, I contacted FS Tools directly. Within 2 hours there was a courier at my front door – arranged by FS Tools – who whisked my blade away. 3 days later I received a call brom the FS Tools rep, advising me that the blade had somehow slipped through their quality-control team and that it had a slight warp to the blank and one tooth improperly set. They fixed the blade, resharpened it and sent it back to me the following day, with a promise that if I wasn’t 100% satisfied with the blade, to let them know and they’d send me a new one, free of charge. The blade cuts so well that there’s no way I’d imagine having it replaced.
Now, that’s what I call service! Thank you, FS Tools!!

Hi Planearound ,
I've been using the FS Melamine type cutting blades for about 15 years or so and have always been happy with them so I was surprised when you originally posted your concerns .

Excellent. I swear by FS Tools blades and have never had a problem, but it's good to know that if I do ...

We trained hard, but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up into teams, we would be reorganized. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganizing; and a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency, and demoralization.

Good to hear!!
I have used FS blades and tooling for at least 20 years and found that they are not cheap but excellant quality and service I even have their skillsaw blades . Many of my blades have been retipped. My freud dado set met with a disaster, breaking and chipping numerous teeth and they sorted that.A skillsaw blade met a concrete block being used as a sawhorse. I find that the carbide on the teeth is thick and allows many sharpenings .In all a good company for both purchasing and sharpening. I have no connection with FS tool other than being a satisfied customer. Jako
