Hi everyone,

I’ve been lurking here for a couple years and thought I’d join in since I had to register in order to look.

I need to ask a question of one of the folks who posted, figured it would be more polite to introduce myself first. (Forgive me, I grew up in the South)

Anyway I’m a 50 yr old carpenter (32 yrs.) and part time cabinet maker.I have a small shop in my basement consisting of mostly old hit or miss machines I’ve collected over the years. My shop has seen mostly hobby work over the years but now I’m starting to get more paying jobs. It has been my dream to make my living from my shopwork exclusively, may not get there but at least I’m moving in that direction. Ideally more furniture and less cabinetry but I’ll do what I have to do.

BTW I’ve drooled on a lot of your work in the Projects section, maybe I’ll post some pics someday.
