I’m working on a dining table using plywood and solid red oak. So one of my questions is how to even up the colors.
My customer has selected General’s “Warm Cherry” oil stain. Would Femowood filler and Behlen Rock Hard, thinned to be used as a wiping varnish be compatible, and in what order?
Critique? Ideas?
Thanks, all

You would want to start with the stain. Give it a substantial time to cure. On red oak, you can get bleeding out of the pores for quite some time if you flood it on heavily. Then, tint the filler to either match or be just a little darker than the stain. If you want to minimize the effect of the filler on the overall color you might want to use a light sealing coat over the stain. You may need to use two applicaitons of pore filler to handle the large pores of red oak. Aftr letting the pore filler cure well, the Behlen Rockhard brushed or thinned for wiping makes an excellent top coat.
Take care since the solid wood may well take the stain differently than the plywood.
