I am working on a rocking horse with the main body made of 1.5 inch cherry. I cut the outline on the bandsaw and now I am in the process of removing the marks left by the saw and preparing the surfaces for finishing. I found my Boggs (Lie-Nielsen) curved bottom spokeshave very handy to do so on the ouside radii (convex) surfaces (followed by some light touches with a card scraper). But what gives me more trouble are the inside radii. Some of them are pretty tight (somewhere around 1 inch radius) and the sole of the spokeshave is too long to fit in there. What would be a good tool / technique to get that job done? Is sanding my only option, or are there other ways?

You can use some fine rasps or files to even out the inside surfaces and then sand to final shape. You can also use an oscillating spindle sander.
