I am finishing a cherry bed. Unfortunately, I have had to use wood from two different sources and there is a difference in color (one is lighter than the other).
In order to darken the lighter, can I use boiled linseed oil and follow it with wipe on poly?
I have tested and it gives a good match, but wonder if there are hidden dangers.

First, look at the thread entitled dyeing cherry that is currently just a few threads below this one. Initial dye steps are particularly valuble when you have mismatched wood.
