HEEEELLLLLP!!! Looking through some past issues of Fine Woodworking I came across a nice formula for figuring out the radius of an arc when given only the height and length of the arc. Of course I cannot remember which issue I saw this in or find the tiny scrap of paper on which I actually wrote the formula down on. Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks

The one I use (and there are several that work the same) is
width squared + 4x(height squared)
divided by (8xheight)

This is the formula that I always used to make arch forms :
Where A= base of arc (chord) , B= height of arch ;
goes like this >>> A divided by 2 (squared ) + B squared / divided by 2B = R
What this means is : Divide the base by 2 then square the answer, square the height and add that to the base figure, then divide that sum by 2 times B = Radius
