I am using wipe-on poly for a drawer front and am not sure whether to perform a final sanding after the last coat or not. I know I have to do it in-between each coat and wipe the residue off but not sure if I have to sand after the last coat…

I let the poly cure for a couple of weeks at least, then I rub it out with 0000 steel wool & wax. Poly takes forever to fully cure & reach it's ultimate hardness.
I used 5 coats of wipe-on poly for my birds-eye maple drawer fronts and my wife thinks it is now too shiny. I can't win. Thanks, I'll wait a couple of weeks and then rub it out with the 000 steel wool. Thanks for your input...Regards,

Did you use a high gloss or satin poly? My personal preference is to use a high gloss since it will 'dull down' after a while. My wife (and some customers) want the satin look right from the start.
High gloss... Thanks for the info...Regards,

Normally, with a wipe on finish, final coat sanding is not needed. It is better not to sand if you are satisfied with the look of the finish.
